Day 4 Prompt
Gingerbread Man.

By - Dr Romila Chitturi

A golden dough begins to rise,

Beneath the warmth of winter skies.

With ginger spice and clove so sweet,

He forms a crisp and sudden treat.

Two currants for his watchful eyes,

A smile that holds no sad goodbyes.

He skips across the dusted pan,

The dashing, bold Gingerbread Man.

He runs from ovens, hot and bright,

Into the softness of the light.

No fox shall catch this sugary soul,

For joy and laughter are his goals.

A snap of crunch, a taste of cheer,

He brings the festive spirit near.

In every crumb, a memory stays,

To warm the cold of holiday days.

From the warm little oven, with a giggle and grin,
Popped a gingerbread man, crunchy sugar skin.
Buttons of raisins, smile icing-bright,

He waved at the world through the soft light of
the oven.
“Run, run fast!” chanted his cinnamon feet,
Past the cat and dog through the frosted street.

Across flour-white fields, and a candy-cane stream,
He burst through a holiday cookie fantasy.
But when Winter laughed by the wide River,
A cunning old fox gave him a slippery ride.
Oh crumbs and laughter—what a sweet plan! Sweet tales are left of the Gingerbread Man!!

By - Bhawana Sethi

I am a little cookie man, round and sweet,
With gumdrop buttons and icing on my feet.
I jumped out of the oven, and then I ran out the door,
I had no desire to remain in the kitchen any longer.

Since I was forbidden from
I ran past the farmer, and I ran past the cow.
I am going so fast, just look at me.
I shouted to the sheep and to the big brown hen,
“You will never, ever catch me, not even for a ten.”
I came to a big river, and I wanted to cross it,
I did not want to fall and turn as soft as moss.
A fox called out, "Jump on. I will give you a ride."
But I saw his big teeth lodged deep within.
So I tickled his nose, and I gave a big jump,
I landed on the grass with a delighted little thump.
I am still running fast, as fast as I can,
The cool and humorous little Gingerbread Man.

Title -
WE, THE GINGERBREAD MAN

We are the Gingerbread Man

Most of the times

In our lives,

Trusting the most unwanted,

Leaving the good.

You run,

Run and run,

From genuine men

To finally get stuck

In the lies of the crooked,

Falling into a pit,

Struggling to climb up.

“You can’t catch me,”

You sneer in overconfidence,

But life catches you at your weakest

When you're down, struggling.

Mrs Lily and her husband were bakers.
They were excited to make a Gingerbread Man.
They were waiting for their
grandkids to come home for Christmas.
They bought all the ingredients and started to make that special cake.
With great care, they made that Gingerbread Man.
Early morning, when the kids knocked at the door,
and when the door was opened, the kids ran inside shouting and ran towards their grandparents.
All of a sudden, all were surprised to see that the Gingerbread man was running out of the house.
“ Hey! Wait, wait, where are you running, and everyone started to run on the road after him.
The whole town ran after the gingerbread man.
The town looked like a marathon runner, running.
The gingerbread man was enjoying seeing so many running after him
At last he was tired and sat on a bench in the park.
Everyone caught him, and all got to taste the gingerbread.
It was good fun, and all the kids had a good time.
They thanked Lily's aunt.

A good Christmas party with the Gingerbread Man
