Dussehra: The Victory That Lives Within.
Every year, as the evening sky glows with the burning effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran, we celebrate the triumph of good over evil. But beyond the fireworks and festivities, Dussehra is more than a historical event - it is a mirror that reflects our inner battles.
Ravana, with his ten heads, was not just a king. His ten heads represented anger, arrogance, lust, jealousy, attachment, hatred, ego, selfishness, and injustice - these demons still reside in us silently. Lord Rama's victory was not only a triumph on the battlefield but also an eternal lesson: no matter how powerful or deeply rooted the demon is, it can never outshine righteousness and truth.
In today's fast-paced world, the relevance of Dussehra has not only grown, but we are also facing battles on social media, against corruption around us, against inequalities, and, most importantly, against the weaknesses within us.
It is easy to cheer when the towering figure of Ravana collapses into flames, but the harder task is to confront the Ravana of envy when someone else succeeds, or the Ravana of anger when things don't go our way. Dussehra poses a question before us: Can you be your own Rama? Can you gather courage, patience, and wisdom to overcome these forces and emerge victorious in the story of your life?
This year, as we watch the sky sparkle and the flames rise high, let us pause for a moment. Let us not just forget to burn the paper effigies, but also set fire to at least one negative quality that holds us back. Let us redefine Dussehra not just as a day of remembrance but as a day of growth and renewal.
