Reflective Lessons learnt by our writers this year.

Each year we learn a lesson, and that is how we grow. Here are some valuable lessons that our writers have learnt this year.

Reflections on Growth: Lessons Learned in 2025.

By : Bhawana Sethi.

2025 was the perfect mix of Creative Pursuits and Deep Reflection about who I am. For 20 years, I have primarily been an educator working with young adults, but 2025 has also been a critical point in time for me to reflect on and focus more on my other interests, as both a published Author and Home Chef. This year, my journey has resulted in the publication of my first book, Tapestry of Soulful Stanzas: A Collection of Poetry, and my second effort, the children’s fiction storybook, The Adventures of Dabba and Jalebi. As a result of this journey, I have established a strong set of values that I believe in.

The Anchor of Gratitude and Faith.

Over the course of this year, one of my greatest lessons has been the power of gratitude and how it has sustained me. This year has given me a lot of space for creativity in both writing fascinating stories and discovering new joy in cooking. Along with my gratitude for this creative space, I am grateful for my faith in God, Lord Krishna, and the lessons He has taught me. His teachings tell us that "selfless action" is the true source of peace, which has also given me such great passion to pursue every opportunity I have in my writing and cooking.

The Imperative of Self-Love.

As I have embarked on releasing my first-ever book, I have had to exercise a lot of perseverance throughout this process, due to the demands of being a creative professional. One of the most important lessons I have learned is that one must love oneself. To maintain that passion that shines through every piece of work you create, you must take care of yourself. Without making wellness your top priority, you will not have enough energy and capacity to continue pursuing your creative passions and creating new concepts for additional children's fiction.

Focused on the Foundation: Health.

The demands of balancing a vibrant creative life made me realise the non-negotiable role of health. It is the absolute foundation. This year, focusing on my physical and mental well-being has provided the stamina and mental clarity needed to write, cook, and embrace new projects. Health is the resource that allows my clear mind and creative passion to illuminate every endeavour, making space for heartfelt exploration of devotion, nostalgia, and everyday reflections.

The Power of Silent Win.

By: Dr Romila Chitturi

This year has been a masterclass in learning to keep my cards close to my chest. You know that excitement when you book an amazing holiday, finally splurge on that perfect item, or have a brilliant new idea? The natural impulse is to share it, right? To tell your closest family and friends, just wanting to spread the good news.

But my biggest lesson this year has been realising the unexpected drain and interference that can come from even well-meaning people. An unasked-for critique on your idea, a comment that casts shade on your purchase, or a remark that saps the joy from your upcoming trip - all this happens, especially from extended family. They often project their own fears or limiting beliefs onto your plans. This year taught me the value of resisting the urge to seek external validation.

I’ve learned that the most powerful wins are the silent ones.

Now, I enjoy my purchases, I plan my trips, and I work on my projects first. I let the results speak for themselves. The less you share, the less static there is. It's not about being secretive; it's about safeguarding your energy and protecting the magic of your own journey until you're ready to present the finished chapter. The peace of mind that comes from executing your plan without public scrutiny is truly irreplaceable. It allows for pure, unadulterated excitement.

Lessons learnt this year
By - Poornima Sivaraman.

The year began well, with a lot of appreciation for my writing on various platforms. I am grateful to them.
I could publish my 1st Book for children and become an Author on my 75th birthday.
All these taught me that if one is persistent and does any work earnestly, one can
achieve anything in one's life.

Age does not matter at all.
The zest to do something good in life should be the
' MOTTO'

Never to stop learning and growing is another important lesson I learnt this year.

The last month has started well with some wins.

I am writing for my satisfaction and am happy
When some people like and comment on my writing.

That is the Gift, I feel.

We thank them for sharing their feelings and the lessons which they have learned this year.
