1st Poetry.
Title - A Winter Day.
By - Reubenna Dutta.
A warm silk blanket covers me from toe to chin,
Its pink fabric brushes against my skin,
Just like melting soft butter on a piece of bread.
The soft cloth, comforting me, was woven in silk thread.
My maid will arrive with a cup of coffee, smoking hot,
I will find my warm breakfast ready in a pot.
My mother would be busy in the kitchen,
Maybe she would be cooking my favourite chicken.
But then I will have the whole world for me,
From the warmth of my house, I would flee.
I would run to the fields afar,
Where the blue sky meets the horizon,
Under the sun's glare.
My woollen cap would sway in the breeze,
The chilly wind is making me freeze.
But I would still stand the whole day,
Till the cold tries to drive me away.
While returning, the horizon's misty maze,
Would not escape my gaze.
This is how I spend a winter day,
I know it's crazy, but that's my way.
2nd Poem.
Title - Winters and Warmth
By - Shweta Gupta.
Winters are here, it's time to be cozy,
A sip of masala chai, snuggling the furry blanket, and wearing jerseys.
Days are short, chilly nights are long,
Cold Wind takes our breath away, bathing feels so wrong.
But one thing that prevented me from this freezing weather,
Sweaters made of wool but knitted with love by my dear grandmother.
Her wrinkled fingers slowly cued every stroke of the knitting needle,
Eyes were weak, but each knot she perfectly entwined with her friendly spectacles.
No brand, no layered jacket can replace the warmth of her crochet sweater,
Wish she could see her granddaughter wearing the same sweater to beat the shivery winters.
3rd Poem
Title - Cozy Winters
By - Sujata Maggoo.
When winter wraps the world in white,
A hush descends, soft, pure, and light.
The heart of hope starts to glow.
Even when cold winds choose to blow.
Warm blankets of dreams, so near,
Embrace the heart, dissolve the fear.
With every breath of frost, a whispered prayer,
That peace and love might remain there.
Through fog and chill, our spirits rise,
Like sunbeams breaking cloudy skies.
The barren trees still stand so tall,
Teaching strength-despite the fall.
Hot tea, soothing words, gentle hands.
We find the warmth that our souls demand.
For every end, a new start appears.
Wrapped in grace, the season’s cheer.
So let the snow remind your heart—
That healing, too, can make a start.
For even in the coldest days
Hope finds its light in gentle ways.
