Dear brother,
When you were born, I was just three years old. I welcomed you happily and enjoyed playing with you everyday. I am happy to share some childhood memories. You were running beyond me and I shared my toys with amusement. You were too small and I used to carry you sometimes. I had a lot of teddy’s and books. You used to tear them and beat the teddy’s. And I used to stop you from doing the act. We were riding the same cycle and roaming around the streets. You used to study well and mom had a difficult time making you sit and study. Fortunately, You scored the first rank in your class and we were amazed. When you grow up, one habit of yours is unforgettable. You used to save the money which daddy gives in the piggy bank. Finally, when dad was running out of money it’s you who helped him. But when he returned the money you charged the interest. We used to laugh and this is still nostalgic. But in my later days, I understood the value of savings only through you. I am grateful for that. One more fun moment is daily we fight for the TV remote. Then, we both watched the same channels happily. Years passed and now we both are grown up. The above incidents are reminiscences!

मेरे प्यारे भाई निशांत,
मैं आज रक्षाबंधन के अवसर पर तुम्हें पत्र लिखकर सबसे पहले तुम्हें रक्षाबंधन की ढेर सारी शुभकामनाएँ दे रही हूँ और साथ ही कामना कर रही हूँ कि हर वर्ष मैं तुम्हारी कलाई पर राखी बाँध सकूँ।
पत्र में आगे लिखती हूँ कि हर रोज़ हमारे बीच नोक-झोंक, हँसी-मज़ाक, लड़ाई और बहस होती है, लेकिन हमारे रिश्ते की खास बात यही है कि तुम हर मुसीबत में मेरे रक्षक बनकर मेरे लिए हमेशा खड़े रहते हो।
जीवन में जब बुरा वक्त आए या कुछ कठिन समय लगे, हर समय मेरा हौसला और हिम्मत बढ़ाने के लिए तैयार रहते हो।
भाई के रूप में तुम मुझे पापा से भी ज़्यादा समझते हो। मुझे सबसे खास बात यह लगती है भाई, तुम्हारी—तुम मुझे कभी जज नहीं करते हो और मेरे लिए भाई के साथ-साथ मेरा सपोर्ट सिस्टम भी हो।
रक्षाबंधन पर परंपरा है कि भाई को बहन राखी बाँधती है तो भाई बदले में उपहार देता है। लेकिन तुम मुझे रक्षाबंधन के अलावा भी कितने उपहार देते हो और तुम्हारा यह कहना कि दीदी, ये कुछ पैसे ले ले, अपने लिए कुछ ले लेना, मेरे दिल को छू जाता है।
सब भाई प्यार करते हैं, लेकिन तुम मेरे लिए सबसे अनमोल हो।
मैं खुद को बहुत भाग्यशाली समझती हूँ कि भगवान ने तुम जैसा भाई मुझे दिया, जो मुझे सम्मान के साथ इतना प्यार भी करता है।
बड़ी मैं हूँ, लेकिन मेरी ज़िम्मेदारी उठाते हो और मुझे पढ़ने-लिखने के लिए और जीवन में अपने सपने पूरे करने के लिए भी कहते हो।
भगवान ऐसा भाई सबको दे, जो ऐसी सोच रखता हो और अपनी बहन को इतना विशेष दर्जा देता हो।
रक्षाबंधन का पर्व भाई-बहन के पवित्र बंधन का त्योहार है, जिस दिन बहन अपने भाई की कलाई पर राखी बाँधकर उनकी लंबी उम्र की कामना करती है और भाई भी राखी बँधवाकर बहन को रक्षा का वचन देते हैं और बहुत से उपहार देकर इस पर्व को सुंदर बनाते हैं।
भाई, एक बार फिर से मैं तुम्हें राखी की बधाई देती हूँ और भगवान से कामना करती हूँ कि तुम जीवन में बहुत आगे बढ़ो और तुम्हें संसार की सारी खुशियाँ मिलें।
हमारी मीठी-खट्टी तकरार और उसमें छुपा प्यार कभी कम न हो।
