Our Winners -

1. Dr Romila Chitturi

Poem -

Beyond the rusted iron of the gate,

Where shadows linger and the silence clings,

I cast aside the heavy, hollow weight

To find the rhythm in my rising wings.

The wind is not a barrier to break.

But breath that carries every silent plea,

Above the ripples of the silver lake,

Across the borders of the rolling sea.

No longer tethered to the dust and stone,

I trace the lines where light and azure meet;

The sky is now a kingdom of my own,

With all the world beneath my weary feet.

The cage is but a memory of the night,

As wings of freedom catch the morning gleam;

I take at last my long-awaited flight

To touch the edges of a waking dream.

2. Poornima Sivaraman

Poem -

I spread my wings on the skies of hope,

No chains to bind, no fear
to cope.
The wind  hums songs of
distant dreams.
Life glows brighter  than
It seems.
I rise above the doubts
and scars,
Touching faith, the moon,
the stars.
Each breath whispers,
dare to be,
The soul finds truth in
being free.
Past shadows fade, their
hold is gone,
A braver self is gently born,
With an open heart and vision.
I chose my path,
my fearless stride.
On wings of freedom,
strong and true,
I fly toward horizons new.

3. Sujata Maggoo

Poem -

I stitched my wings from broken days,

From silent tears and braver ways.

No borrowed sky, no guided track,

I learned to fly by falling back.

I chose my voice when fear said “stay,”

Turned wounds into a brighter way.

Each scar became a mark of might,

Each doubt is a lesson in my flight.

I rise for dreams I once outgrew,

For truths I hid, for self I knew.

This sky is mine, I claim it whole—

My wings are freedom, born of the soul.

4. Dr Arwa Saifi

Poem -

I let my heart breathe easy today,
No rules to bind, no ties to hold.
I walk along my chosen way,
With dreams uncluttered, free and bold.

I choose my pace, I choose my way,
No need to match another’s flight.
I greet the world, come what may,
With a hopeful heart and quiet might.

Freedom lives in simple things -
An honest laugh, a fearless voice,
The strength to stand, the will to hope,
The beauty of a mindful choice.

My wings are built from trust and time,
From letting go of fear and doubt.
I move in rhythm, calm, sublime -
That’s what true freedom’s all about.
